An orphan named Jongli Chu kills Hwang Jung, a member of the Heaven-slaying Sect, to avenge his older brother. To evade the sect's pursuit, he joins the Imitating Blade of the Soul-killing Chambers. He faces the Ten Chastisements, a major threat, and must become a Legendary Death God to escape its consequences. The story explores whether Jongli Chu can achieve this goal and find freedom within the strict rules imposed by the Orthodox Sects.
