In early 1900s England, a young noblewoman named Alice employs a Japanese maid, Hanako. Their relationship is initially conventional, but it takes an unexpected turn when Alice implores Hanako to end her life. As Hanako struggles to understand the reason behind the request, her bond with Alice deepens, leading to the emergence of a new, undefined emotion between them.
