Ichihara possesses supernatural abilities and is viewed as an outsider by those around him, except for his mother, who accepts him. Despite his efforts to live a normal life, others see him as a threat and confront him, labeling him a monster. His life changes when an android with supernatural powers, designated number 5, attacks and kills his mother while she tries to shield him. The story explores the aftermath of this event.
