Seirei no Tomo to Shite

A young boy from an aristocratic family, Torque, is exiled from his home along with his mother, a concubine. After being physically punished by his father, he recovers memories of having been a regular businessman in a past life and of being reborn into this world. He and his friends travel to a poor village connected to his mother's origins, but face hostility from the villagers, and his mother becomes sick. Using knowledge from his past life and magical skills taught by his mother, he attempts to improve their living conditions and build relationships with the locals. He later encounters a "spirit" residing in the village. The story follows his efforts to move forward in life.
