A war between humans and space witches a millennium ago devastated planets and claimed many lives before the most powerful witch was captured and imprisoned as a war criminal. A village now guards the castle where she is sealed, its inhabitants possessing minor magical abilities—except for Mugi. Seeking to demonstrate his worth without magic, Mugi enters a forest filled with monsters near the castle and is rescued by an unfamiliar girl.
