The setting is the year 1890, in the midst of Japan's Meiji era. A spirited young girl named Kanako is completely fixated on the so-called Worldwide MIKO SpiriNet, an early form of the Internet that only chosen miko are able to operate. When she is not scrolling through message boards, she tends to be found gazing, transfixed, at pictures of men.
