A therianthrope named Hal is tricked and sold at a black-market auction, where he is purchased by a feared and mysterious Bone Witch. He is made her familiar and tasked with various duties, ranging from mundane chores to more questionable activities. Over time, as they interact, the witch's cold demeanor starts to soften due to Hal's sincere and friendly personality. In turn, Hal begins to appreciate the witch's hesitant acts of kindness, leading to the development of a bond and a sense of loyalty from him.
