A man from Tokyo, Shuuhei Wakatsuki, travels with his girlfriend and her child to visit his parents for New Year's Eve. During the drive, he reflects on his complicated relationship with his father, from whom he has been distant. Upon reaching his family home, Shuuhei and his father sit together to watch a television program. They start a conversation, marking a moment of quiet connection after years of estrangement.
