Shana Ou Yoshitsune

This manga presents an alternate take on the historical figure Minamoto no Yoshitsune and his attendants, including the famous Benkei, during the Heian Era. In this version, Yoshitsune is depicted as a frail and weak boy who encounters Hyouta, a traveling orphan who works on the streets. Hyouta is physically identical to Yoshitsune and, due to his greater strength, takes on a role meant for Yoshitsune, eventually adopting his name. The work received the Kodansha Manga Award for Shounen in 2004.
