Sheryl Nome lives with her parents on the starship Galaxy, where they resist government-mandated human enhancement implants. After government forces kill her parents, Sheryl escapes and struggles to survive on the streets. A talent agency manager named Grace O'Connor takes her in and helps launch her career. Years later, Sheryl attends the Erato Music School, where she befriends Amagi Lilies, a talented singer. Lilies dies while attempting to save Sheryl. Determined to honor her parents and fulfill a promise to Lilies, Sheryl pursues a career in entertainment with the goal of becoming the universe's top singer.
