On the final Christmas of his high school years, Jun Aiba, facing difficulties in life, enters a pact with a woman who identifies herself as the God of Death. As he attempts to live the next three years without complications, his plans shift when he stops a girl from committing suicide, an event he was not meant to interfere with. Determined to prevent her death, Aiba continues to intervene in the life of Tsukimi Ichinose, a girl who is determined to end her own life. He spends his time trying to dissuade her from giving up, as she remains resolute in her decision.
