A doctor operates a small clinic in Kabukicho, Shinjuku, a district affected by an incurable disease. Patients with unusual conditions visit him regularly. One day, a challenging patient and detective arrives—Maria Daigo. As they deal with various strange cases, the doctor and detective find themselves involved in one enigma after another. Together, they confront the unsettling events unfolding in the district. The story explores their efforts to uncover the truth and possibly save the town from its affliction.
