Shinjuku Elegy: Shiawase Sinkirou

A collection of four stories explores different aspects of human nature and life in Shinjuku. In one, Shigeru, a manipulative man, becomes involved with Yukiko, a blind girl navigating the city alone. Another follows Toshio, a struggling musician, who meets Ai, a rich young woman seeking excitement beyond her sheltered life. A third story features Takeshi, a traveling salesman, who takes in a young girl he assumes is abandoned. The final segment continues the story of Yukiko and Shigeru, focusing on their son Umitaro, who begins boxing after an incident involving a woman in need.
