A young man with an exceptional memory is stationed at a military fort in Tsushima in January 1942, where he joins the heavy artillery regiment. The story details his experiences during the three months of training he undergoes there. Originally considered unadaptable, this work is based on a celebrated piece of Japanese literature and was honored with the 2007 Tezuka Osamu Creative Award.
