Shinseigokumon

A gate known as "Shisei Gokumon" serves as the passage for souls into the Underworld. Two guardians stand at either end: the black Gozu and the white Mezu. They are only allowed to meet briefly when the gate is open. One desires to touch the dark ox-headed demon, while the other wishes to avoid soiling the pure white horse-headed demon. Despite their feelings for each other, they are forbidden from making contact. Their longing is intense, yet they remain separated. If they were human, their emotions might be described as love.
