A protagonist, severely and mysteriously injured in childhood by his father, journeys to find a cure for his wound. His father's act was meant to establish a dark agreement with evil powers, which remain a looming threat throughout the protagonist's travels. He is accompanied by a reliable, magical steed and receives assistance from a deity.
