Divine Bells are artifacts that select their own masters and play a significant role in shaping the status and influence of the nations they are associated with. Their presence or absence greatly affects the lives of royal families. A king named Hong-Ryeong faces uncertain personal and political prospects due to his lack of a Bell, yet acquiring one carries its own dangers. The nature of the Divine Bells remains unclear—whether they are mere magical objects, powerful deities, or something else is unknown. When the owner of three of the eight known Divine Bells dies, the Bells seek new masters, potentially sparking conflict and upheaval.
