A weak, blue-eyed fox cub is left alone in the woods after being abandoned by its mother. A boy named Mu-Heun finds the frightened fox and takes it home, naming it So-Baek. They grow close, but their peaceful life is shattered when intruders kill Mu-Heun and his family while So-Baek is away. Upon returning, So-Baek mourns and promises to become human and pray for Mu-Heun's reincarnation. After seventy years, a man with hollow eyes appears, stirring memories of Mu-Heun in So-Baek.
