A company called "Heaven" employs "Messengers of Death" to transport souls to the afterlife, with their abilities determining their rank. Uka, a laid-back high school girl who has dropped out of the program as a Rank C, is unexpectedly paired with Tsumugi, a confident and skilled Rank A Messenger. The series includes standalone stories such as "Hane Oto" and "Kimi Oto."
