Luke Cunningham, an American tycoon, becomes infatuated with Angelica Lonsdale after seeing her in a crowd and is determined to win her. Angelica, however, is focused on saving her family home, which requires a miracle. Luke, despite not seeing himself as a hero, believes the best way to achieve his goal is to help her, proposing marriage as a solution to both their problems. He offers to assist her in exchange for being the one to help her, positioning himself as a potential savior. Angelica must decide if a marriage based on mutual need can lead to something more.
