A silver-haired man named Ameya appears to assist a boy named Norio, though others do not seem to notice him. A murder occurs in a locked room, leaving behind a single clue: a note written in an indecipherable message that reads, "Within three days I will steal the equivalent value of the life of the person who will be in this room." Two insurance investigators from Sircam, Isa and Senjo, suspect the killer is someone known as "Paper Cut." The identity of this mysterious murderer remains unknown.
