In a future where humanity is threatened by the return of the "Shadow Angels" after 12,000 years, these beings attack cities and steal the "prana" of their inhabitants. To combat them, young individuals with unique abilities are selected from around the world and trained to operate the "vector machines," three ancient vessels that combine to form the powerful weapon "Aquarion." The narrative centers on Apollo, a teenager believed to be the reincarnation of Apolonius, a former angel who once fought against his own species to defend humans.
