Nagai works as a detective in the Metropolitan Police Department and is currently sharing an apartment with his high school classmate, Kitahara. Though they weren't close in school, Kitahara unexpectedly moved in after claiming to have been kicked out by his roommate. Nagai finds living with Kitahara difficult due to his fickle and evasive nature, though he also has a talent for cooking and often acts spoiled. Despite the challenges, Nagai grows comfortable with the arrangement until Kitahara abruptly announces he is reuniting with his ex, ending their cohabitation. Yet, it appears Kitahara is hiding more than he lets on.
