Steam Boy

During the mid-nineteenth century Great Exhibition in Victorian England, Ray, a young inventor with a family legacy in steam-powered machinery, receives a powerful metal sphere from his grandfather, Lloyd. Lloyd has returned from the U.S., where he and Ray's father worked on a confidential project for the Ohara Foundation. The sphere becomes a target for agents of the American firm and rival groups seeking to use it in the construction of the Tower Steam, a massive war machine. The story explores tensions between Ray, his father, and grandfather, highlighting differing perspectives on technology, progress, and the consequences of industrial ambition.
