A boy named Muoru is wrongfully imprisoned and forced to work in a cemetery, where he adopts the title of "grave keeper." While there, he encounters a girl named Meria and becomes intrigued by her. As he continues his labor, he digs a hole that holds an undead creature known as "The Dark."
