Suikoden

This manga adapts *Water Margin*, one of the four major classical Chinese novels. It follows 108 outlaws who are given amnesty after uniting to form an army that fights against foreign invaders and quells rebellions. As they navigate the complex political and social landscape of ancient China, they confront a government marked by apathy and conservatism, which shows little respect for genuine courage.
