Byron Heiden, the eighth prince of the Lagon Kingdom, is dismissed as a weak summoner and spends his time at a gambling hall. Unbeknownst to others, he possesses hidden abilities, being the summoner of Russen the Joker, a figure associated with defiance against the monarchy. Taihan Heiden, the second prince, unexpectedly names Byron as heir and assigns him a task to locate the unknown rebels responsible for an attack on the royal palace 11 years prior.
