Emily struggles with lingering feelings of betrayal after being hurt by a past relationship, and a business trip to Italy does little to lift her mood. While in Italy, she meets Giovanni, a charming and pleasant man she encounters in a small store. Their paths continue to cross, making it difficult for her to avoid him. Despite her efforts to stay distant, a pattern emerges that keeps them connected. Emily remains wary, having been hurt before, and is reluctant to believe in fate or trust easily.
