A light novel adaptation of the action RPG Tales of Phantasia follows Wynonna Pickford, a skilled archer in a traveling magic troupe. She observes an unusual light over the Valhalla plains near Midgards and is engulfed by its shockwave, transporting her to an unfamiliar location. There, she meets a man named Daos in front of an ancient castle. The story serves as a prequel to the RPG, exploring the origins of Daos' rise to power as the Demon King.
