A future world has descended into chaos following failed scientific experiments, causing most areas to revert to tribal societies. These experiments also triggered permanent genetic changes in humans, dividing them into two groups: Machines, who have mechanical enhancements, and Beast Spirits, who possess animal traits. Black-Eyed Rock, a Machine, travels between these two groups, seeking understanding of the new world while defending shared ideals.
