Ruri Takizawa is the daughter of a prominent diviner family that is taken over after her parents' death in an accident. She is forced into servitude and seeks any means to escape her difficult circumstances, even if it means becoming a pawn in a political marriage. Despite repeated failures in arranged meetings, her late father's spirit remains with her. When she encounters Izumi Toshida, who identifies as a sorcerer but cannot see spirits, she sees a potential way out, though his intentions remain unclear.
