Masato, a member of the Tendo family, is to wed the daughter of a baron. However, the woman claiming to be Hojo Ran is not the real one. The true Ran has disappeared, having learned of the dangers associated with the Tendo family. In her place is an imposter who asserts that she will sacrifice her life to save another.
