During the Heian period, a high-ranking noble had two children who desired to be of the opposite sex. The daughter, Kira, was strong and assertive, while the son, Kira, was delicate and gentle. Due to their contrasting personalities, their father raised the daughter as a boy and the son as a girl. The manga is adapted from a novel titled “Torikaebaya Monogatari” from the late Heian era.
