Ai dreams of becoming as renowned an idol as her mother, but repeated rejections from talent agencies have left her disheartened. After breaking down in a park, she is approached by Haruka Amami, an idol from 765 Production who had judged one of Ai's auditions. Recognizing potential in Ai's voice, Haruka comforts her and brings her to 876 Production's president, Ishikawa. The president is eager to sign Ai, believing her mother's legacy will ensure her success. Ai refuses, insisting she wants to earn her place through her own efforts. As a result, she is given a single opportunity to prove herself at a rookie idol audition.
