A teenage youkai named Hanzou travels to Tokyo from a small island, seeking a bride as part of his fate. Ichijouji Mei, a girl who begins to develop a constitution that attracts youkai at age sixteen, becomes entangled in his journey. The story unfolds in Tokyo, known as a haven for youkai, and follows their interactions in a romantic comedy setting.
