Koito Matsuda, the daughter of a police officer, holds a strong belief in the goodness of people and opposes dishonesty. On her first day at high school, she encounters Taiga Akiyama, a student who has repeated a grade and is known for causing trouble. Despite his reputation, Koito maintains her belief that he is fundamentally good and makes an effort to help him integrate into their class.
