Three characters form the core of the narrative: Uesugi Kazuya, his older twin brother Tatsuya, and Asakura Minami. Kazuya is a well-regarded student and star pitcher on his middle school baseball team. Tatsuya, in contrast, is unmotivated and has long allowed Kazuya to take the spotlight, even though he might be more naturally talented. Minami, their childhood friend and neighbor, is close to both and sees them as equals. The community expects Kazuya and Minami to eventually become a couple, a belief Tatsuya also holds. However, Tatsuya begins to understand that he is willing to go to great lengths to support his brother, but not at the cost of letting Minami go to Kazuya. The story explores Tatsuya's struggle to prove himself against Kazuya, the evolving dynamics between the three, and their shared goal of helping Minami achieve her dreams.
