Itsuki and Hisame, childhood friends, journey together along the Tokaido, seeking adventure and battling youkai. They rely on one another to complete their tasks. Though Itsuki is playful and cunning, he appears to have deep feelings for Hisame, who remains oblivious due to his own inexperience. Itsuki's efforts to earn Hisame's attention may or may not succeed.
