In 1893, according to the church calendar, the kingdom of Nohmaland went to war with the Flatanian Empire, claiming to act against abuses of Patlasi people within it. To assist their regular forces, the empire deployed an armed service, including a group of combat maids responsible for guarding and policing castles, to the front lines. These maids engage in trench warfare as the conflict with Nohmaland persists.
