Hakuto feels intense discomfort when making eye contact, leading him to avoid school and isolate himself at home. One day, he enters a lake historically linked to rainmaking ceremonies where shrine maidens were once sacrificed and discovers a girl underwater with a sword through her body. He decides to return to the lake daily, finding comfort in the idea that he can look at her without distress.
