Homura Kamishiro, recognized as the world's most powerful mage, defeated the demon king Typhon five years ago. Despite his victory, he is now regarded as The Traitor and Fiend Summoner, accused of making a pact with monstrous entities. He enrolls in the 101st Training Platoon at New Tokyo Magic Academy. There, he is connected to Hoshikawa, the platoon's leader, through a secret promise he made in the past.
