A junior-high student with no notable qualities lies on her first day of school about being engaged to a well-liked classmate. Expecting the lie to be exposed quickly, she is surprised when the boy uses the story to his advantage and pretends to be her fiancé. As more lies accumulate, what began as a selfish act unexpectedly turns into a means of helping others.
