VERSION

A Japanese private investigator and a scientist's daughter go to Australia to investigate a sentient biochip after it and the daughter's father vanish. A failed secret research project is involved, and the case grows more complicated as clues emerge. A detective named Happo Mitsuri joins the search, and they encounter a mysterious figure who reaches out to him. A shadowy group appears to be monitoring the investigation. A mermaid somehow connects to the unfolding events.
