Vinland Saga

Thorfinn, as a boy, listened to Leif Ericson recount stories of a distant western land. His imagination was later crushed when his father was killed in a raid, and he was taken in by the very Vikings responsible. He grew into a formidable fighter, driven by a desire to kill Askeladd, the leader of the group, and avenge his father’s death. His motivation is rooted in his family’s honor and his vision of a peaceful western land, free from war and slavery, which Leif referred to as Vinland.
