Salvors are individuals who tow damaged ships and manage their cargo, typically charging for their services. Unlike rescue teams, they operate for profit rather than altruism. Rintarou's father owned a salvaging company, but Rintarou strongly disapproved of its methods and chose to join a rescue organization instead. After finishing his training, Rintarou's father passed away. In his will, he requested that Rintarou assume control of the company. Complicating matters, the father left behind a debt of 1.5 billion yen for his son to manage.
