A boy named Misao has the ability to see "bugs" that appear on people who commit sins. The size of the bug reflects the severity of the wrongdoing—small for minor offenses and large for serious ones. Using this ability, Misao can assess the weight of a person's sins. However, he begins to notice bugs that do not follow the usual patterns, and at the same time, unusual events begin to happen in his vicinity.
