In a fantastical African savanna, various anthropomorphic predator and prey species coexist under a strict societal structure. Rules dictate when and where predators may hunt. Leon, a lion, defies expectations by not growing a mane, showing no interest in territory or a harem, and following a vegetarian diet. His tiger companion, who has a crush on him, disagrees with his dietary choice but tolerates it. After rescuing a frightened gazelle from the capital, the tiger is uneasy about the gazelle's presence. Meanwhile, jackals tracking the gazelle appear to have a connection to Leon.
