Humanity faces extinction after a catastrophic conflict involving an atmospheric control facility. Amagi Ren, a magician capable of altering reality by rewriting the information that defines existence, is transported to Kobe City, one of seven remaining sealed cities. During his mission to collect a sample, he is intercepted by another magician, Yuichi Kurosawa, who stops him and gives him a girl named Fia instead. Ren and Yuichi clash over their efforts to protect the people they care about. Fia holds a dangerous secret related to the cities.
