Cedric Reid ends up in a parallel universe inhabited by hostile entities and discovers a magical notebook capable of making written content real. He uses it to retaliate against wrongdoers and to take in the abilities of other supernatural creatures. He eventually becomes part of a high-level team of agents working to eliminate evil.
