Wombs

A conflict persists on Hekiou between the first and second waves of settlers. A part of the military employs native Niebass creatures, which are implanted into female soldiers' wombs to grant them translocation abilities. This practice is viewed by some as an alien exploitation of human women. Mana Oga, a new recruit, joins a unit of women who accept the implants to protect their territory. Her boyfriend opposes the use of the creatures, reflecting broader societal concerns. The narrative centers on Mana and her fellow soldiers as they undergo the procedure and carry out their duties.
